• Park City will host the Sundance Film Festival for the last time Jan. 22–Feb. 1.
• Main Street and several Old Town roads will have extended closures and parking restrictions.
• Free public transit from Richardson Flat and shuttle connections from Deer Valley and Park City Mountain lots are recommended.
• China Bridge garage offers paid passes; employee permit parking is available in select lots.

H2: What’s changing on Main Street and Old Town
Park City is closing Main Street to vehicles from the top of Main to 7th Street starting at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, through Monday, Jan. 26. This follows a pilot closure last year and will make the heart of Old Town pedestrian-only during that window.

Other Old Town roads will be restricted. Hillside Avenue and Park Avenue will be limited to residents with access passes; Park Avenue will operate one-way downhill. Swede Alley will be open only to residents with passes or people displaying ADA placards. City officials also warn against cutting through residential neighborhoods and say additional security will be in place to deter traffic diversion.

H3: Parking closures and restrictions to know
Several parking locations will be closed or partially restricted for the festival. Bob Wells Plaza and the north end of the Brew Pub Lot are already closed and will remain so through the festival.

  • North Marsac Parking Lot: partial closure Jan. 21–Feb. 1
  • Park Avenue parking: closed from Heber Avenue to 9th Street Jan. 22–Feb. 1
  • Main Street, Heber Avenue and Swede Alley parking: restricted Jan. 22–27

Employee permit parking is available in the Flagpole and North Marsac lots and at the Gateway Center. Visitors who prefer to drive can use the China Bridge garage by purchasing either a season-style $550 pass or daily event-rate tickets.

H3: China Bridge garage daily event rates

  • Thursday, Jan. 22: $40 flat fee
  • Friday, Jan. 23 – Saturday, Jan. 24: $50 flat fee
  • Sunday, Jan. 25 – Tuesday, Jan. 27: $30 flat fee
  • Wednesday, Jan. 28 – Sunday, Feb. 1: standard parking rates resume

H2: Best alternatives — free transit and shuttle options
Because parking in Old Town is limited, Park City officials strongly encourage visitors and residents to use free public transit. Richardson Flat Park-and-Ride (near U.S. 40) offers free parking with buses to the Old Town Transit Center every 15 minutes from 6:40 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Deer Valley Resort’s lots 5 and 6 and Park City Mountain Village parking are open to Sundance attendees each day from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Park City Transit runs shuttle connections between these lots and Old Town. There is also a designated drop-and-load area on lower Main Street and Marsac Avenue for quick passenger transfers.

H4: Where to get more details
Park City has published a comprehensive community guide with full maps, permit details, and the latest street restrictions. Visitors and locals should review that guide before driving into Old Town and plan to arrive early or use transit and shuttles to reduce delays.

Planning ahead will make visiting Park City during the final Sundance Film Festival smoother: expect pedestrian-only zones, limited parking, and frequent transit options to get around safely and legally.
