NBA reveals 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest field

The NBA announced the eight competitors for the 2026 State Farm 3-Point Contest, set for Saturday, Feb. 14 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. The event will be the first competition of NBA All-Star Saturday and will air at 5 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

The field: Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), Kon Knueppel (Charlotte Hornets), Damian Lillard (Portland Trail Blazers), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jamal Murray (Denver Nuggets), Bobby Portis Jr. (Milwaukee Bucks) and Norman Powell (Miami Heat).

Lillard chases historic third title

Damian Lillard, a nine-time All-Star, returns to the marquee long-range showdown after winning the contest in 2023 and 2024. A victory in Inglewood would give Lillard three titles, matching the record held by Larry Bird and Craig Hodges. Lillard’s experience and past success make him the most talked-about entrant in the field.

Fresh faces and first-timers

Four competitors will make their State Farm 3-Point Contest debuts: Kon Knueppel, Tyrese Maxey, Jamal Murray and Bobby Portis Jr. Knueppel, a rookie, arrives as a surprise addition and could become the first rookie champion if he upends the favorites.

The contest also includes past champion Devin Booker (2018), adding further star power and shooting pedigree to the lineup.

Format and stakes

The two-round format gives each shooter 70 seconds per round to rack up points from racks of long-range spots. The top three scorers from Round 1 advance to the championship round, where the highest total wins. Complete competition rules are available from the NBA’s official release.

This year’s competition carries both legacy and narrative — Lillard’s chance to join Bird and Hodges in the record books, and a young group of first-time participants aiming to make a name on All-Star Saturday.

Broadcast and how to follow

The matchup pairs proven sharpshooters and rising stars, promising a fast-paced, high-stakes lead-in to All-Star Weekend. Expect clutch long-range displays and a storyline centered on Damian Lillard’s bid for a third crown.
