H2: Nash delivers blunt verdict on CM Punk

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash did not mince words on the latest episode of his Kliq This podcast when discussing CM Punk. Speaking with co-host Sean Oliver, Nash said he watched Punk’s recent Raw main event and came away underwhelmed.

Nash flagged two issues: Punk’s choice to wrestle in a T-shirt and the perceived slowness of his punches. “I watched Punk in the main event of that match last Monday… Number one: if you’re the Heavyweight Champion of the WWE and you wrestle in a T-shirt — ouch,” Nash said. He added that Punk “looked slow” in the match and concluded, “I think it’s time for him, I think he’s done… I think Bron should beat him.”

H3: Context — Punk’s recent run and upcoming matches

Punk returned to WWE programming earlier in the year and has headlined Raw on multiple occasions. Nash’s comments arrive ahead of a planned title match with Bron Breakker, and his view that Breakker should win fuels speculation about creative direction if WWE wants to shift the World Heavyweight Title.

H2: “Manufactured heat”: Nash on Gunther

Nash also weighed in on Gunther, calling the Intercontinental champion’s current momentum on Raw “manufactured heat.” While acknowledging Gunther is the closest thing to heat on the show, Nash argued it’s staged by production and authority figures rather than organically earned.

He described a recent Raw segment where Gunther’s entrance and promo play out only for General Manager Adam Pearce to tell him to leave the building — a sequence Nash interpreted as scripted heat. “He has manufactured heat. It’s the closest thing that there is to heat on that show, but he doesn’t have heat… it’s like last week when he came out… they played his music, played his entrance, gave him a microphone, he cut a promo. But when he got done, it’s time to get the fuck out of the building, because you’re a bad guy and you got heat,” Nash said.

H3: What “real heat” means

For Nash, “real heat” is disruptive — it forces an unplanned reaction and changes the flow of the show. By that definition, he believes Gunther’s crowd response is controlled and layered into the broadcast, rather than an uncontrolled, volatile reaction that would signify deeper engagement.
