CBS picks new weekend anchors
CBS News announced that Adriana Diaz and Kelly O’Grady will take over as the new hosts of CBS Saturday Morning beginning Saturday, Jan. 10. The move ends a rotating cast of fill-in anchors that the show has used since November, and replaces Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson, who led the weekend program from 2018 through 2025.
What CBS said
“We want our audience to walk away with a better understanding of the stories that are shaping their lives and the world around them,” said Shawna Thomas, executive producer of CBS Mornings. CBS highlighted the two journalists’ complementary experience as a reason for the hire and said viewers can expect thoughtful reporting and context to start their weekends.
Adriana Diaz: veteran correspondent
Diaz joined CBS News in 2012 and has held a variety of roles at the network, including hosting CBS Mornings Plus and the Saturday edition of CBS Weekend News. She was part of the team that won an Emmy for the 2018 documentary “39 Days,” which examined the student movement that followed the Parkland school shooting. Diaz said she hopes to “honor that legacy” of the program and praised the show’s history of in-depth storytelling.
Kelly O’Grady: business and sports reporting
O’Grady joined the CBS News Network in 2024 as a MoneyWatch correspondent. Her reporting has focused on business and finance issues — from how economic trends affect everyday decisions to college athletes navigating NIL deals — and she has also covered sports topics related to major events like the upcoming Milan Olympics. O’Grady called weekend hosting a responsibility she “deeply value[s],” and said she looks forward to working with Diaz.
Network shake-up continues
The announcement comes amid broader shifts at CBS. Just weeks earlier, Tony Dokoupil was named the anchor of CBS Evening News, part of a series of personnel changes across the network’s news lineup. Since November, the Saturday morning show used a variety of anchors — including Vladimir Duthiers, Anthony Mason and Meg Oliver — while executives evaluated permanent hosts.
When to watch
CBS Saturday Morning airs Saturdays at 7 a.m. ET. Diaz and O’Grady will also alternate daily cohosting duties for the CBS News 24/7 Mornings stream, extending their presence across broadcast and streaming platforms.
Why it matters
The new pairing signals CBS’ push to refresh its weekend journalism with reporters who combine enterprise reporting, business expertise and feature storytelling — a strategy the network has been rolling out across its morning and evening shows.
