Aiden Ross’s road to The Voice finale

College student Aiden Ross is headed to the Season 28 finale of NBC’s The Voice. The 20-year-old pop vocalist won over coaches and viewers with powerful, emotional covers and ultimately chose Niall Horan as his coach after a four-chair turn during his Blind Audition.

Ross’s performances have consistently impressed judges and audiences. His Blind Audition of Adele’s “Love in the Dark” prompted all four chairs to turn, a rare achievement that launched his run on the show.

Standout performances that earned his spot

Ross won his Battle against teammate Ava Nat and then bested Liam Von Elbe in the Knockouts. In the Playoffs, his rendition of Damien Rice’s “The Blower’s Daughter” stood out so strongly that Horan named him his team’s sole representative in the live shows.

Judges praised Ross’s vocal control, emotional delivery, and maturity on stage — qualities that helped him advance to the final rounds despite earlier elimination on a previous audition attempt. Ross told local outlet KAMU that his first run at the show taught him lessons and fueled growth that helped on this season.

Grateful for fellow contestants and growth

Ross has been vocal about how much he’s learned from competitors as well as coaches. In interviews he highlighted that being surrounded by high-caliber singers pushed him to improve as both a performer and a person.

“One thing that has helped me so much with this show is just being around all the other contestants,” Ross said, crediting peers for sharpening his craft.

Backup plan: college and faith

While chasing music, Ross has a clear backup plan. He’s registered for spring classes at Texas A&M, continuing work toward an engineering degree should a music career not immediately materialize. In a Facebook post he wrote he’s “trusting that God’s plan is bigger than anything I can see right now.”

Ross told KAMU that his post-show choices will depend on opportunities that arise: if a viable music path appears, he’ll pursue it; if not, he’s prepared to return to school.
